Will this kayak operate well in saltwater?

The SS127 is a solid inshore fishing kayak and can handle some offshore as well. Being 12' 7" it wouldn't be the best kayak if you wanted to cover miles and miles of water but is going to offer great comfort, storage, and stability for a full day on the water. The SS Series rudder kit will be available starting September 2019.
